Dr Sameer Kaushal is a qualified eye surgeon from the prestigious AIIMS, New Delhi and is also currently Head (Ophthalmology) at Artemis Health Institute, Gurgaon apart from being the owner of PL Memorial Eye Clinic, Gurgaon. He started his medical career in 1995 when he joined AIIMS as an undergraduate. After completion of med school, he specialized in Ophthalmology followed by 3 years of training in, Cornea, Cataract and Refractive Surgery from the same institute. While in AIIMS, he gained expertise in treatment of corneal and ocular surface disorders. He also gained valuable experience in performing various eye surgeries, especially anterior segment surgeries including phaco surgery for cataract, LASIK and corneal transplantation. His expertise extends to the latest treatment modalities including sutureless corneal transplants, lamellar techniques and stem cell transplants. He has also been involved in various teaching and research activities with multiple research papers published in various international journals. He has pioneered new techniques including new surgical procedures and minimally invasive treatments. He has also co-authored books concerning corneal transplantation and LASIK surgery. Following his long stint at AIIMS, he joined Artemis Health Institute, Gurgaon in 2008 and established LASIK and Corneal Transplantation Facility at the institute. He has also established PL Memorial Eye Clinic in Gurgaon as part of the alliance of Comet Eye Care.
